Officers and staffs of Gombak District Education Office would like to wish a very Happy Hari Raya Aidiladha to all the Muslims!

This course was attended by 70 Excellent Teachers (GC) and it was conducted at the Marina Cove Resort Lumut, Perak from 2-4 November 2009. According to Wahida bt Abd. Wahid (the President of Excellent Teachers’ Council of Gombak) this programme has successfully fosters a better rapport among the GC of the Gombak District. They really put their heads together especially to find ways to boost next year’s academic achievement. The course official closing ceremony was completed by En. Ismail b. Abdullah (Senior Assistant Director of Vocational Technology, the State of Selangor Education Department).

The Sports and Co-curriculum Unit of PPD Gombak will be having its Excellence Award Ceremony this coming 13.11.2009 (Friday) at 3 p.m., at SK Taman Melawati. The awards presented includes for the achievement and participation in the sports, co-curriculum and co-academic.

The kiosk machine at PPD Gombak is fully operational again since 26.10.2009. This machine is loaded with the latest information about the management of PPD Gombak. Among others, the e-Circular programme has been installed into the kiosk for your reference to help you search for the current circulars. With this effort, we hope it will assist you to attain the latest information from PPD Gombak and answer any of your enquiries.  

All Guidance and Counseling Teachers in the Gombak district are required to carry out the work process of collecting E-Report data according to the dates as follows:

Data closing date              -              31.10.2009

Compiling collected data (PPD) - 31.10.2009 until 1.11.2009

Submission of JPN data to KPM - 9-10.11.2009

The National Level of Malaysia Road Safety Council (MKJR) Competition will be held from 25-29 October 2009. The competition takes place at the International KL Hotel. For the MKJR oration competition, the state of Selangor will be represented by Zarith binti Termizi from SK Klang Gate. The best of luck, Zarith!

1.     SBPI Gombak  - First place for NILAM Management, for rural secondary schools

2.     SMK Rawang    - Second place for Computer Lab Management

3.     SK Taman Melawati - Second place for NILAM Management, for urban primary schools

4.     SK Bukit Rawang Jaya - Second place for Access Centre Management;  Third place for NILAM Management, for rural primary schools

5.     PKG Hulu Klang – Special Award for the Best PKG, for temporary building category and second place for the best video clip

6.     Azman bin Kholid (SBPI Gombak) -  second place for NILAM Personality, for rural secondary schools

The award giving ceremony was held at the Crystal Crown Harbour View Hotel, Port Klang on 22 October 2009.

50 principals and teachers from the Gombak district will be attending a compulsory course that is the First Level of Corporative Administration Management. The course commences from 21-23 October 2009 at the Tang Dynasty Hotel, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Two representatives from PPD Gombak will participate in the course, namely Pn. Wan Zainab Wan Ngah and Pn. Noor Sofiah Ismail.

The PPD Gombak will be audited on 30 October 2009. The MS ISO 9001:2008 will be audited by 22 auditors from the Selangor State of Education Department and all PPD of the Selangor state. There are 8 PKP and 9 PKPS to be audited.

A Co-curriculum Management Course for all Co-curriculum Senior Assistant Teachers (GPK Kokurikulum) will be held in Port Dickson. Courses for Co-curriculum Technical Officer will also be conducted. These courses will be held on:

1. 25-27 October 2009       - Group 1 Primary School
2. 1-3 November 2009        - Group 2 Primary School
3. 8-10 November 2009      - SJKT/ SJKC/ Secondary School
4. 15-17 November 2009    -  Co-curriculum Technical Officer

The Gombak District Education Office (PPD Gombak) had the pleasure of welcoming a benchmarking visit from PPD Kota Bharu on 16.10.2009. The group was lead by Tuan Haji Che Abdul Aziz bin Hj. Daud and joined by 60 other officers.

After 4 months of hard work, the night that we have been waiting for finally arrived. It’s the night of the Award Ceremony for MOE Work Quality Improvement Group Year 2009. From 12 to 15 October 2009, the ePICT group which consisted of 9 officers and staffs from PPD Gombak, together with an officer from the Selangor State Education Department whom acted as the group facilitator, competed in the competition by presenting the e-Circular project.

Luck was not on the group’s side however, as they did not manage to beg any of the prestigious award.

The group which also represented the state of Selangor was nevertheless proud to attain a 3-star rank through the e-Circular project, though competing for the first time. They are at least at the same level as other experienced groups.

Well done ePICT group for your first attempt and do continue your effort to achieve greater accomplishment in the future.

The ePICT group consisted of officers and staffs from PPD Gombak had represented the Selangor State Education Department in the National Level of Convention for MOE Work Quality Improvement Group which was held from 12 to 15 October 2009. The group presented a project entitled e-Circular on 13.10.2009. Dr. Hj. Zahri bin Aziz, the Selangor State Education Director and Puan Hjh. Patifah binti Shamsuddin, the Deputy Gombak District Education Officer were also present on that day to give their full support. Let us hope the group would gain a place in the competition.

Officers and staffs of the Finance Unit from PPD Gombak had a benchmark visit to PPD Batu Pahat on 12 October 2009. This visit was lead by Tuan Haji Ahmad bin Ismail, accompanied by the Senior Assistant Accountant- Puan Fazilah binti Ismail and 10 other staffs from the Finance Unit. A lot of input and excellent work practice in PPD Batu Pahat could be applied to further establish the Unit and also PPD Gombak in general.

Participants also had a tour to PKG Parit Raja to observe the Task Force of Finance Unit PPD Batu Pahat conducting their inspection on the submitted vouchers. Congratulations to PPD Batu Pahat, which has 196 schools under their control yet has never obtained any Letter of Admonition from the Audit. Thank you for the warm welcome and attention to the PPD Gombak officers and staffs.

The KMK team from PPD Gombak will be representing the state of Selangor in the MOE Work Quality IMPROVEMENT Group (KMK). This convention will be held from 12.10.2009 until 15.10.2009 at the Blue Wave Hotel, Shah Alam, Selangor. The KMK team from PPD Gombak is as follows:

In conjunction with the Quality Month PPD Gombak 2009, an exhibition will be held at the lobby of PPD Gombak starting from 9.10.2009 until 31.10.2009. The officiating ceremony will be held on 9.10.2009. All educators in the Gombak district are welcomed to visit the exhibition.
